  • What is mindset and confidence coaching?
Also known as mental performance coaching, mindset and confidence coaching helps athletes build the mental and emotional skills needed to perform consistently under pressure, bounce back from mistakes, and build lasting confidence. It’s like strength training—but for the mind! Although it is not counseling or therapy, most of our work happens through thoughtful conversations, brainstorming, and problem-solving together. The goal is to help athletes feel more in control of their mindset so they can play with confidence and enjoy their sport more fully.
  • Who do you work with?
I work with young athletes—from late elementary school through college—across a wide range of sports. My clients include athletes in traditional team sports like soccer, basketball, and lacrosse; individual-focused team sports like baseball and softball; as well as swimmers and runners. I also support performance-based athletes such as cheerleaders, dancers, and gymnasts.
  • What services do you offer?
Team Workshops (in-person or virtual): Customized mindset sessions for coaches and teams. 1:1 Coaching (virtual): Ongoing support tailored to the athlete’s individual goals. Club Partnerships: Customized mental performance support designed to meet the specific needs of your program, with flexible scheduling and payment models that work for your staff and families.
  • What topics do you cover in workshops or coaching?
All individual and team sessions are customized to meet your needs and developmental level, ensuring that athletes receive relevant, age-appropriate tools they can immediately apply in their sport and daily life. Common topics include: Building confidence through self-talk Developing a mistake reset routine Managing emotions and staying composed Performing under pressure Leadership and communication skills Pre-game routines and preparation Visualization techniques Post-game reflection and goal setting
  • How is this different from therapy or sports psychology?
While therapy focuses on mental health and may address issues like anxiety, trauma, or clinical diagnoses, mental performance coaching is skill-based and forward-focused. I don’t diagnose or treat mental health conditions—instead, I help athletes develop practical tools to improve confidence, focus, emotional control, and resilience on and off the field. Although I’m not a therapist, I bring a trauma-informed approach to my work. I hold a Master’s degree in Special Education and have a Health Education Certification, which allows me to support athletes with a wide range of learning styles and needs. My coaching is designed to be accessible, age-appropriate, and supportive of the whole athlete.
  • How do I know if my child or I am a good fit for mental performance coaching?
Mental performance coaching is a great fit if an athlete meets any of these criteria: Takes an active role in their development and wants to proactively strengthen their mental game Gets easily frustrated after mistakes Struggles with confidence, nerves, or performance anxiety Wants to improve focus, leadership, or emotional control Feels mentally drained or overwhelmed by pressure or expectations Many athletes and families say they wish they had these tools sooner, coaching can be helpful whether you're navigating challenges or simply looking to take your performance to the next level.
  • Do you work with clubs or just individuals?
Both! I regularly partner with sports clubs to provide seasonal workshops or virtual programs for their athletes. I also coach athletes individually and offer discounts to players from clubs who promote or use my services.
  • How do team or individual referrals work?
Individuals: Once you’ve purchased a coaching plan, you’ll find a referral link on your personal dashboard. If you refer a new client who books a 3-session package, you’ll automatically receive a $50 discount on your next purchase. The new client will also get $50 off their first booking. Teams: If a team refers Cultivating Confidence to a new team that books a workshop, both teams receive a $50 discount. The new team’s coach should mention the referral and the referring coach’s name when they reach out.
  • How do I get started?
Mindset coaching is new to me—I’m interested but want to learn more before committing. No problem! You can easily book a FREE consultation call through our online calendar. This call is a no-pressure way to ask questions, learn about the coaching process, and figure out if it’s a good fit for you or your athlete. I’m ready to get started now! Great! I recommend starting with the 3-Session Standard Package. This gives athletes foundational skills and tools to begin applying mental performance strategies to their game. After completing these sessions, many families continue with the Maintain Your Confidence Monthly Plan, a convenient, ongoing program designed to fit consistently into busy schedules.
